Case IH Camera Ready Combines

In this video from our precision farming team, we take a look at the camera ready feature in Case IH combines.

Identifying Camera Ready Combines

Case IH first introduced the camera ready feature in the model year 2014 flagship combines. This would include 7230, 8230 & 9230 model combines. They then included this feature in the model year 2016 midrange combines starting with the 5140, 6140 and 7140 machines.

There are 3 areas to check to verify that your combine is camera ready:
  1. On the back of the Pro 700 display, check for a jumper wire that goes to the BNC connection.
  2. On the left side of the combine, behind the tires, there should be 2 green connectors.
  3. And lastly, in the grain tank, check for a green connector between the two bin level sensors.

Installing The Cameras

Now that we have located the connectors on the combine, we can install the cameras. When the
machine comes from the factory, it will have plugs installed into each connection. To remove the plugs insert a fine blade, such as a pocket knife, and insert it in the front edge of the connector and lift up on the square tab.

The next step is to insert the adapter cable into the connections. Then for the back-up and unloading auger cameras, you will need to thread on the extension cable.

With the extension cable threaded in, you will want to run the backup cable down the left side of the combine to the back, and the unloading auger cable straight up. Please make sure you run the cables along existing wiring harnesses and hydraulic lines, keeping it away from moving parts.

Setting Up The Cameras

Now that the three cameras are installed we need to set them up on the Pro 700 display.
  1. Click on the toolbox icon and arrow across the bottom to find the video tab.
  2. On this screen, the three cameras listed are set to default if cameras have not been previously installed. We want to define which camera is which. On our example the reverse camera was set-up as camera 1, camera 2 was left as default, and camera 3 was defined as "unload tube."
  3. Now we can set up a run screen to display the cameras on. To do this, click on the layout tab at the bottom.
  4. Find a run screen that works for your set-up and define a space for the cameras. For our illustration, we used run screen 5 and set up a video 2x4 space.
Now when you go to your selected run screen, the camera feeds should be showing. To toggle between the feeds, simply tap on the camera window to change between cameras.
